OUR STORY

Overflow Advisory was formally launched in 2025 on the founder’s 60th birthday, but its roots go back much further.

Founded by Funmi Oduniyi MBA, MPH, it was created to give structure and sustainability to decades of work in mentorship, public health, healthcare, strategic advisory and leadership development.

At its heart, Overflow Advisory is about using experience, insight and service to support people and communities in practical ways. It brings together a long-standing commitment to developing others, strengthening systems and helping good ideas lead to meaningful action.

OUR PURPOSE

We exist to develop people, generate evidence, support implementation, strengthen leadership and contribute to practical solutions within underserved communities.

Our work focuses particularly on African and diaspora communities while remaining globally relevant in its principles and approach.

About the Founder

Funmi Oduniyi MBA, MPH, founder of Overflow Advisory brings decades of experience across clinical pharmacy, prescribing, public health, academia, strategic advisory, implementation, behavioural engagement, mentorship, digital transformation and business analysis. Her work brings together evidence, leadership and practical action.

She is a

She is a Senior Consultant based in the UK and currently serves as Chair, Diaspora Sub-Committee & Co-Chair, Partnerships, Resource Mobilisation and Financing Sub-Committee of the National Cancer Control Plan, Technical Working Group at the Federal Ministry of Health, Nigeria (2026 - 2030).

Having faced widowhood just before I turned 30, and later surviving a traumatic violent incident, I carry a distinct perception of life and living. These experiences deepened my appreciation for life and strengthened my commitment to helping others.

The idea of overflow comes from a simple belief: that what we have received is not meant to be held tightly, but to flow outward into the lives of others with empathy, care and generosity. This belief is rooted in my core life philosophy — to comfort others with the comfort we have received, and to bless others with the blessings bestowed on us.

Overflow Advisory was created to give structure to that work — to continue it with intention, depth and purpose.
